Tripod Table Lamp: White
The tripod table lamp stands as a testament to the ingenious simplicity that defined mid-century Danish design. At its core lies an exercise in balance - the stark triangular base juxtaposed with a precisely angled shade - creating an elegant interplay between form and function. Originally conceived in 1953, the lamp's varied positions and adjustable shade transformed a utilitarian object into a versatile tool for precision lighting. The minimalist design reflects its thoughtful construction: a shade spun from a single piece of aluminum paired with a base of precisely bent and welded steel tubes, all finished in a satin matt lacquer with brass detailing.
Available in black or white
The lamp emerged from the creative partnership of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen, whose story began at Copenhagen's Kunsthåndværkerskolen Snedkerskole. Their methodical attention to form, function, and technical craftsmanship led to their breakthrough victory at the 1943 Swedish Störjöföreningen competition.
