Shigaraki Nut Vases: Smoke
The vase that holds space beautifully – whether filled or empty. Sculptural forms in lustrous bronze-black glaze, softened at the rim, grounded by tradition. Made by third-generation Shigaraki-yaki maker Marui Seito using techniques passed down through 1,260 years of ceramic mastery.
Each piece emerges from one of Japan's six oldest kilns in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture – designated a traditional craft by the national government in 1976. The subtle irregularities, the organic shape, the way light plays across that textured surface: all hallmarks of authentic Shigaraki ware.
Perfect for a single dramatic stem or a minimalist dried arrangement – equally compelling when left empty as pure form. Available in two sizes that nest beautifully together or stand independently.
Also available in Snow.
